This Privacy Policy explains what information iTravail AI ("iTravail", "we", "us") collects when you use itravail.com/ (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have — including around advertising.
1. Information we collect
A random, anonymous visitor identifier stored in a browser cookie, so we can recognize you across visits without requiring an account, apply your free daily usage allowance, and remember your chosen language, country, and theme.
If you create an account: your email address, name (optional), and password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text).
If you upload a CV: only the text our AI extracts from it is stored (for CV Review, Interview Prep, and Cover Letter features, and to speed up future sessions if you save it to your account) — the original file itself is never kept.
The content of your messages to our AI assistant (job search queries, interview practice, cover letter drafts, job postings you write), so the assistant can respond and, if you are logged in, so you can resume past conversations.
Basic technical data any web server collects automatically — IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps — used for security, abuse prevention, and understanding aggregate usage.
2. How we use your information
To provide the Service: running AI job search, CV review, interview prep, cover letter drafting, and job posting; showing you real job listings matched to your country and language.
To enforce a fair daily usage allowance shared across all visitors.
To remember your preferences (language, theme, country, saved jobs) between visits.
To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse.
To show advertising that helps keep the Service free — see Section 4.
3. Third parties we share data with
AI processing: the text of your requests (chat messages, CV text, job posting drafts) is sent to our AI infrastructure provider (currently Groq) solely to generate a response — it is not used by that provider to build a profile of you outside of processing your request.
Real job listings shown alongside your search results are pulled from public job-listing APIs (Remotive, RemoteOK, and Jooble) — we send your search keywords and country to these providers to retrieve matching postings; we do not send your name, email, or account details to them.
Analytics: we use Google Analytics (Google's "gtag.js") to understand aggregate Service usage — pages viewed, general engagement — see Section 4 for the cookies involved and your choices.
Advertising: see Section 4 for how Google AdSense and its partners are involved.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
4. Advertising, analytics, cookies, and your choices
iTravail uses Google AdSense to display advertising, which helps keep the Service free for everyone. Google and its advertising partners use cookies (including the DoubleClick/Google Ads cookie) and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
iTravail also uses Google Analytics, a separate Google service, to measure overall Service usage (e.g. how many people visit, which pages/features are used) in aggregate — this involves its own Google Analytics cookies and shares data with Google under Google's own privacy terms (policies.google.com/privacy). It is not used to personalize the ads described above.
You can opt out of personalized advertising, or learn more about how Google uses data from sites that use its services, by visiting Google's Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) and Google's page on how data is used in advertising (policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites). You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices.
Beyond advertising and analytics cookies, we use your browser's local storage and a first-party cookie to remember your anonymous visitor ID, language, theme, and onboarding choices — these are functional, not used for cross-site ad tracking, and are described in Section 1.
5. Data retention and security
We keep account data, saved jobs, and stored CV text (extracted text only, from an uploaded file or the CV Builder — see Section 1) for as long as your account exists. You can delete your stored CV, export a copy of your data, or permanently delete your entire account at any time — see Section 6.
Anonymous visitor records (for visitors without an account) are kept only as long as needed to enforce daily usage limits and are not retained indefinitely for tracking purposes.
Passwords are stored as secure one-way hashes, never in plain text. We apply automated rate limiting and other anti-abuse measures on sign-in, form submissions, and AI usage to help protect the Service and its users. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing (including ad personalization — see Section 4).
You can exercise most of these rights yourself, any time, from your Account settings: update your name, delete your saved CV, download a copy of everything the Service holds about your account ("Export my data"), or permanently delete your account and its associated data ("Delete account"). Deleting your account removes your profile, saved jobs, chat history, stored CV, and any saved API key; if you had published job postings, they remain publicly visible (other people may be relying on them) but are no longer linked to your account. For anything else, contact us at the address in Section 8.
7. Children's privacy
iTravail is a job-search tool intended for working-age adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
